Vietnam was not about communism, is was a civil war which we mistakedly got in the middle of until we were the bad guys with all our napalm, cluster bombs, free fire zones and Agent Orange. That's something we found out 20 years too late. Watch the movie "The Fog Of War" and listen to what McNamara is confessing now. In reality, the Vietnamese hated the Chinese and Soviets. Of course our government lied to us from 1963-1973 about all of this. As a result we got some 500,000 people killed, including 55,000 of our own, and still haven't paid off the war debts. Beware when your government starts lying to you. Like with Iraq. Kerry was 100% right about both Iraq and Vietnam. he deserves more medals.
