I'll tell you one thing, what is turning me off of everywhere is the interest paid in credit balances...

it is very meagre at Fidelity, ScottTrade, MB trading

now, otoh, IB pays over 3%, also has very low margin. see IB's rates here: interactivebrokers.com

for my IRA accounts the interest paid is important because frequently, the accounts will sit on large cash

trade off is that IB requires $10/mo commissions (1000 shares) - if you are low, they make up the difference by charging a fee

also, I find IB's method of aggregating accounts extremely confusing...

I have used Scottrade for quite a few years. They are good. I also use etrade because scottrade does not let me short puts.

I personally have used Scottrade for years, starting with when they first started advertising on our sites. I wish I could get them to advertise here again. Every online broker prior to them has found a way to tick me off so much that I've moved my account elsewhere. This has yet to happen with Scottrade, though I feel like I'm getting raped on options commissions. I paid $107 commission the other day on a purchase of 80 calls at 15 cents. If I sell at a nickel profit, they get over half the profit. I'm going to look elsewhere for an account specifically for options trading.

I'm having a problem with ScottradeElite and am wondering if anyone else is having the same problem or has found a solution.

Any time it starts up (in the morning or when it restarts itself after a connection breakage), the Volume study in my Level II windows is present but empty. It won't show any data until I remove the study and add it back in. A real pain to have to do this every morning.

Anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution?
