Abstinence is completely unrealistic. We were created with strong sexual desires, especially when we are teenagers and early on in our adult lives. You cannot expect American youth to be a bunch of monks and nuns. Also, there is nothing wrong with normal healthy sex lives.

Also remember, monks and nuns secretly are actually very repressed people, often homosexuals. They have sex drives too, but they devote their lives to battling them.

Abstinence is the only 100% effective method of preventing pregnancy and STDs...

And it doesn't work. It delays the inevitable by a few months. Plus, the religious nutcases running these programs fill the kids' heads with crazy lies........which means they don't know what precautions to take when they do start having sex.
