While Japan auto companies have their health care benefits paid by the govt (if your post is accurate), people complain about GM's limited deployment of hybrids, meanwhile GM is stuck with a $5B/year medical bill. Imagine if they could instead spend $5B on RND, if the govt paid the health care bill. OTOH, govt paid health care is really lousy. On a different note, this is really bizarre: cnn.com "DA: Woman tried to cut baby from neighbor" How bizarre.
