Isn't that often the case with resource based companies. They can be very well managed etc., such as OXY, but they will always be very dependent on the price of their commodity. The same holds true, in my opinion, for mining stocks.
I would concur with your choice of AEOS. As I see it, their fundamentals are pretty good.

Upped my losing position in clothing retailer AEOS a little today.
