Also, it's doubtful that any of the current SC justices were denied scholarships. All of them were the types of students those awards go to.

Derek, Sounds just like snobbery to me. I contend that anyone that thinks he/she has to go to Harvard, or Yale, are snobs, and have no use for any of them. I excuse GW for going there, because he had a good time, and didn't take it seriously. Teddy Kennedy is the perfect model for a graduate of Harvard.

If you get into Yale law school, you're brilliant. If you go to Yale, get good grades, edit the law review, clerk with a federal judge, etc - you're not just brilliant, you're damn brilliant.

I wonder if you are better off picking a law school where you can be pretty sure of making law review rather than going for the top school you qualify for. Let's say you have a LSAT of 170, which will get you in anywhere. Should you drop down to a slightly lower school and look better on paper when you complete?

The other point is, what do you want to do? A corporate law path will get you a lot of money without the hours that a top law firm will require.
