<<The homes being built were not only luxurious, they were enormous. Three car garage standard, and the top ones were four car. The houses cover almost all the lot. No front yard to speak of. Just enough room in back for a pool.>>

I used to live at the edge of town in the 2200 block. Today I went to a Dr.s appointment in the 4800 block. All McMansions between where I lived and the new edge of town. 6-8 thousand sq ft homes with the three and four car garages. Most subdivisions had ponds (and they now bitch about the goose crap in their yards). I have no idea where the growth is coming from.

I moved to the country in '84. 2,000 sq ft ranch with a two car and a finished walkout basement on 5 acres. Now I feel like I live in a dump. On the upside my neighbors can't see in my windows and I can plant all the trees I want.
