NOT the kind of questions you should pitch to me, Hawk.....

BUT.....FWIW.......will take that on....as kinduva useful exercise for me.........and subject to corrections made by any of our experts....g

<<When analyzing an ending diagonal, is there anyway of knowing
that the market could be in the 5 or e of that ED? I mean is there a point where you should recognize it? >>

If i get what you're asking , would say that once you have applied the normal rules and counted out the preceding 4 waves to your satisfaction, and an up move begins, you could assume it's the final 5 up. Would have to show an acceptable internal count.....i.e. 5 waves up within it. (There would be no e involved in this)..And, as you rightly pointed out......all the waves in the ED will overlap.....

<<Overlaps are the whole design of an ED so you can't look there.<<....Yep..

<<Is this a dumb question?>>....Nope....

<<Also how much of an overshot is allowed in the last leg of an ED? 10%?>>
No particular rule.....General rules about length of waves would have to be respected.....i.e. wave 3 of the last leg cannot be the shortest...
