Except that last year the national insurance companies raised MY rates in HI because of hurricanes in Florida. That's NOT a good thing.

Prices are going up -- fast. That will slow the economy. Is it fair to pay $3 for gas? Sure -- we probably should be paying $10 a gallon. Should people in Florida have their insurance premiums double? What the hell, whatever it takes. But all these additional expenses come at a price -- and the price is a slower economy and higher debts, for individuals and for the country as a whole.

I agree that it's a good thing not only for the economy overall, but especially for the investors who are short major homebuilders and home lenders in Florida.<G>
