Silicon validation and characterization yes. That's what a validation partner does.


Dell validates the motherboard design, but I don't think they do much in the way of silicon validation. Sure they would report a discrepency in an instruction or protection level if they stumbled across it, but they don't go looking for that kind of error.

What they do is run some exhaustive series of tests on the motherboard and including any of the optional boards and software that they plan to sell with the system.
