But in one sense, the U.S. military may just be squeezing the balloon. The increased emphasis on Irish security has pushed attacks north to what the U.S. military calls Route Michigan -- a major supply road. From four and five bombs on Michigan in May and June, respectively, the number shot up to 12, 27 and 13 in July, August and the first part of September. There you have it. They put more people there only to get screwed somewhere else. No wonder that just in the first HALF of October 2005, we have lost almost as many soldiers (42) as for the ENTIRE month of October 2003 (44). And, the above illustrates exactly what Gen. Shinseki said before he was booted out by Dumbya and his fellow chickenhawks. Shinseki said we needed "several" hundred thousand soldiers to pacify Iraq (not to win the initial conflict, mind you, but to calm down Iraq AFTER that). Dumbya went in with just over 100,000 instead, and we, and our soldiers are paying the price today. (Note to the ignoranus Dumbya fans: The meaning of "several" -- generally, a "couple" is 2, "a few" means 3 or 4, "several" means anything from 4 to 6, "many" means more than 6. So Shinseki was basically saying we would need at least 400,000 soldiers...)
