Handouts lead ONLY to continued poverty. Education is the key. The Presidents voucher program was the greatest thing in the world to the poor who often live in poverty neighborhoods with poor schools. But, the Dems fight it, I think they want to keep people down on the farm. I went to a college in a relatively impoverished area (these were ALL WHITES, impoverished due to the drop in demand for Bituminous coal at the time), because of welfare these people NEVER MOVED away and over the years their plight only got worse. I truly believe that if this nation Fed, clothed and educated everyone of the poor with the simple provision they had to MOVE into government BARRACKS like those in the military that in a generation we could ELIMINATE poverty and improve our workforce. But, instead, we keep them in Ghetto's where nothing improves for hardly any of them. jdn
