"It's interesting to see so many willing to put their head in the sand and pretend Saddam was running a utopian paradise where butcher, murder, rape and genocide never took place. "

Talk about a stupid thing to say. I've seen no one saying this, except for you, pretending someone said it. Aren't you embarrassed making things up like that? You should be. Stand proud, own up to the fact that the above is just an "interesting" lie- by you.

"If anyone believes the Iraq people would elect the "I received 100% of the vote" Hussein to office"

Who said anything that would lead you to believe anyone here things Saddam would be elected? Of course most of us believe the Iraqis wouldn't have voted to have the US invade, but that isn't quite the same thing, and you've never answered my question on that. Do YOU think the Iraqis would have voted for a US invasion? Try with all you might to think like an Iraqi, instead of a US cheerleader, just for a moment- then return to your regularly scheduled cheer leading.

It's interesting to see so many willing to put their head in the sand and pretend Saddam was running a utopian paradise where butcher, murder, rape and genocide never took place.

Saddam possibly fell short of the standard for genocide; ethnic cleansing would be uncontested. But I wouldn't argue over such a nuance. As George W. Bush said those that support the ones that commit such atrocities are just as quilty as having committed the atrocities themselves. As soon as Bush throws Bush Sr. and Rumsfeld into a detention center for supporting Saddam I'll believe he actually meant it. If he turns over Bush Sr. and Rumsfeld to the Iraqis to be tried with Saddam as co-conspirators, that would be even better. We can't prosecute Reagan, but the least we could do is erect a memorial to Reagan for supporting Saddam. Maybe something along the lines of blood dripping off Reagan's hands with dead Iraqis at his feet. Not sure how difficult that would be to do in bronze.
