Yes, Hitler used Rove-like tactics, fueling ultra-patriotism, scape-goating whole classes of people and exaggerating threats to the homeland. At the same time he used dirty tricks, smear campaigns and thuggish attacks on opponents. Plus he intimidated the press and made sure the truth about Nazism never got out. Don't think it could never happen in this country. We must always beware. Rove's tactics taken to the extreme could result in some sort of one-party dictatorship.
