It's NOT a silly question if you believe in self determination. Our forefathers (remember, beloved American Revolution) decided to revolt- are you under the impression other countries can't do this? It's scary to think of what the Iraqis might have voted on that, isn't it? And not because they were "controlled" but because they probably wouldn't have wanted to be invaded. I think very few people would want to be invaded. Better the devil you have, than a foreign devil AND a power vacuum. Know what I mean?

The Germans and Japanese invaded other countries, so we had a justification to go to war with them. But we should not have invaded Germany OR Japan had they not invaded other countries (in other words- no invasion for "regime change"- after all, do you want China coming over and giving us a regime change because we can't handle our money very well?) That said, the minute they did invade other countries the world should have mobilized against them. I'd like to see that kind on consistency in international law- it would be so much more helpful than than the mishmash of mistakes we have now.

We are in bed with dictators all the time, Michael. What do you think the Saudis are? The Nigerians? The Petrostans (in central Asia-Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan - one of the dictators there apparently boils his opponents in oil- isn't that special? So don't give me any crap about being in bed with dictators- our leaders always are, if the dictators are "helpful". Don't bullshit me Michael, it's just embarrassing to watch.

Bush is dictatorial rule. Why can't you see a corrupt, one-party regime in your own country when you jump up and down and scream about it in Iraq?

Why?

Bush LIED - LIED - LIED to the country, to Congress, to the UN. Do you understand that any decision based upon lies from the government isn't a decision reached fairly and rationally?

Don't you realize that Bush and his cronies are stealing from US coffers every single day that he's in office? Don't you?

Clean up your own house first before trying to clean up any one else's. BTW Chalabi, convicted felon, is now the defacto secular power broker in Iraq. I don't know if anyone bothers to accuse him of being an Iranian spy any longer although it doesn't matter since the current Iraqi government loves Iran anyway.

Since when does the US taxpayer and the US military do the bidding of Iran? Apparently, since Bush took office.
