Yeah, what's up with that. Can't they stay honest for 8 years... or does it just take that long to catch them?

I'll bet there are so many things going on in any gievn administraion, and it is all under a pretty strong microscope (the press), that eventually somebody in an administration commits what he thinks is a "gray area" crime and gets caught, and then the wheels just fall off the car.

Like this thing with Valerie Plame doesn't seem like a horrendous crime (someone revealed that Joe Wilson's deskbound wife is an undercover CIA operative) until this massive investigation suddenly popped up. The person who committed the alleged crime probably just thought he was pushing the legality envelope (if even that), and the result is (perhaps, we'll see) this massive 2 year scandal with a special prosecutor and major news coverage.
