Jim Wallis is a professional Christian on the left, among others.

I don't see that. He seems more like a counter-professional Christian to me, the religious counter rather than the secular counter. If the the professional Christians were to get off the bandwagon and the movement stabilize or disolve, he would either no longer have a political issue or his agenda would be primarily liberalism.

I don't know if I explained that very well. Maybe this is better. He doesn't seem to have as his objective promoting Christianity as the controlling force in our political lives.
