It's a myth. The entire thing about exporting low knowledge manufacturing jobs to third world countries in order to make way for Americans to sit in air conditioned offices and think for a living...it's a blooming, ridiculous, pathetic and rather evil myth. It's also perpetrated by both the right and the left and it's still WRONG. The truth is that people the world over are pretty much the same which means that the US is as chock full of those who work best with their hands building things as any third world country. We've given away our entire infrastructure of jobs leaving only the low skill jobs of retail stock person.
