The day after Jeffords switched parties to give Dems subpoena powers the phony Enron-led energy crisis suddenly disappeared and turned into a glut. The energy spikes began in earnest again after the DEms lost subpoena powers.

No doubt it will happen again if the gougers believe they will be investigated. So 2006 may be the last of the big gouging.

Also remember, the gouging started soon after Bush-Cheney were first nominated in 2000.

Enron's PR manipulator Ed Gillespie was also working for the Bushies at the time and Bush later made him head of the RNC. The energy gouging was orchetsrated with an attempt to ruin and destroy Grey Davis in California.

If Rove goes down, Gillespie is rumored to be the one to replace him. Gillespie proves the connection between Enron (and all the Texas energy companies) and Bush-Cheney.

Starting in 2000 the energy business became a monopoly and colluded to control and jack up prices. Remember, Bushies also have strong ties to the Saudis and Kuwaitis, so they also influence OPEC, and vice versa.
