Bush-Cheney-Saudis-Kuwaitis-Exxon-Chevron-Shell-BP-Conoco, Iraqi fields - sure, they can manipulate prices all they like. And they're all in bed together with almost all the same goals in mind.

Of course the Saudis have other goals of their own, including staying in power, which is why they pay a certain amount of their oil money to terrorist groups like Al Qaida.

Ironic and troubling, isn't it?

Oil and religious extremists seem to be at the heart of all evil these days.

re: In what sense can "Bush-Cheney" increase the world price for oil to $65?

Ignore the obvious solution. Conservation in the country with 5% of the world's population that uses 25% of it's energy.

It's not complicated.... our inefficiency in our greatest opportunity.

Destabilize the middle east by launching an invasion? Take Iraqi oil off the world market? Piss off all the arabs with the oil?

There are many markets in energy. In what sense can "Bush-Cheney" increase the world price for oil to $65? What cartel do they have that would allow this to happen?

They started a war in Iraq, and in process, created great uncertainty in the oil markets. Markets hate uncertainty.
