JQP has a good point in that many of the people who got sick and died were poultry workers/ chicken farmers.

Unlike the cases of the people who visited the zoo.

Specualting: Could be that people who work with DUCKS may have more previous exposure to earlier, less dangerous forms of the virus.

People who work in wool factories usually develop some immunity to anthrax - or they get sick from anthrax and then work somewhere else.

I don't know it that tells us much about the danger of anthrax.
