On WFC there is a clear bump up in chargeoffs, and a "uncertain" statement on the hurricanes and the new bankruptcy law rush.

73 percent of average loans outstanding, annualized) compared with $454 million (.62 percent) in second quarter 2005 and $407 million (.59 percent) a year ago.

On MDC, looks like Sept saw a drop in revenue.

I had never received calls from builders in the past but in the last two weeks I have received two calls from builders in Merced, Ca area regarding purchasing one of their plans. One of the agents said that they had lowered their prices and they have closing cost incentives. The same builders were telling about a lottery system about 4 months ago.

But it is amazing how many people are still making big bucks in this market. A family member and friend are both in the mortgage business and investing in RE. One is 35 and has three homes over a million. One of his homes that he paid $1.8M is going to be finished this month and the price is already $2.6M. Just amazing!!!!! So while everyone in this board are not very optimistic about RE, however people are still making money.

The other guy is 28 year old high school drop out who has purchased 5 homes over a million.

I am not sure how much equity they have in those homes but they are not complaining.
