Hi GV

re ; I don't think so. My recollection is that right after the merger HP regained the market share lead only because the market shares of the two firms were combined. That is very different. Mind you, I'm not ready to declare one data point as indicative of a long term change. Could be, yeah, but I think we need a bit more than one point.

Could not agree with you more. My inflection point retort was only a coy response aimed at someone who views all the worlds ills on INTC, and all the worlds greatness on AMD. Its all a matter how one wants to spin the story. One story says Dell didn't beat the industry for the first time in 7 years in highlights....then goes on to say they did 17.9 vs industry average of 17.1. Another says Dell is fulfilling its promise of greater revenue at the expense of market share, which they agree is a good strategy. I admire Dan3, his erudition as evident by his posts and his impenetrable love for everything AMD...he want to spin the numbers to include AMD. The important thing is how this (and other) news is affecting the stock, and Dell is now nearing its 52 week low.

cheers,
kaka
