he didn't have to. Florida law was leading to a statewide recount anyway. It was Harris who was trying to thwart the law and Scalia jumped in when it was apparent that the Florida courts were going to insist the law be followed.

Gore did win.

In fact it is not false... had gore requested a statewide recount, he would have won...assuming the USSC respects state rights and stays out of it....AND...gore asks for a statewide re-count, which he did not. The following link is from a known conservative site, lest I be accused of partisanship here...which everyone knows is of course not the case...


I've read the testimonials that registered black voters were denied the vote back in 2000. Given what we know now about the Bushes, I would not put anything past them.
