But my short take is as follows: She is a woman, and a much more personable, warm and attractive woman than Hillary. She is black. This fact alone will attract many to her cause who otherwise would vote Democratic. She is highly intelligent. You don't rise up from the cotton fields of Alabama to become Provost at Stanford University unless you've got a lot of brain power accompanied by intense focus and discipline. She is honing her public service swords in a position that brings her world-wide attention. She is modest, never flaunting her person or her abilities. Rather, she permits here excellence to eminate from her well-controlled and conditioned sense of self. And she is loyal, loyal to the President, loyal to her party, loyal to her friends, and loyal in the face of duty. Whatever is demanded of her she delivers and she delivers it above and beyond everyone's expectations. She is the kind of person that you would like to have breakfast with, just to sit and chat over a cup of coffee. Can you imagine what this kind of scene would be like with Hillary? She is a quick learner. The demands of campaigning would find her fully capable and extremely impressive. In fact, if George W had her gift in speaking and in relating he would be a much stronger president than he is at the moment. And, lastly, with Rice on the Republican ticket, most of the reasons for voting for Hillary vanish into thin air. But do I think it will happen? Most likely not. Cheney will complete his term. The Republicans have yet to zero in on any viable candidate. So we are in for some exciting times between now and 2008.
