Bush-Cheney and the neocon cabal wanted to go to war with Iraq long before 9-11. This is an undeniable fact.

I'd say that the value of life without freedom was better left up to the Iraqi people themselves. Revolution is a personal battle, and it cannot be wedged from the outside. I'd be in favor of supporting any revolution that seeks to unseat an evil dictator like the ones that Reagan and Kissinger created, like Saddam or Pinochet.

But that would take brave souls indeed, since many saw Saddam...and Pinochet as agents of the US. What message did we send to the Shia when their post war uprising against Saddam was left unsupported while Saddam slaughtered them from the air? Saddam was left alone to put down the home grown revolution.

This is why the current war in Iraq is morally bankrupt, and for these reasons we should announce a timetable for withdrawal. It's time for the Iraqi people to take the bull by the horns. Our "reasons" for being there have long been found to be "in error". Staying there in this daily limbo mode is not good for Iraq, nor for the brave soldiers that do the daily job of patrolling past IED's in unarmored Hummers with no body armor...like Russian roulette...waiting for their turn.
