I am actually thinking the street is expecting a positive earnings surprise and since everyone's on the same boat, a 1 STDEV beat will not fulfill the market's wishes.

If GOOG beats within a STDEV, say 1.40, the stock has better hold the 61.8 FIBO level of 291.66 from the recent move of 273.35 to 321.28.

On a more robust report of say a 1.46 to 1.50, a test of 302.97 (38.2%) and a hold there would be fabulous.

JMHO....

Plus, I don't think the Brin and Page understand the mechanics or leverage of stock splits as it fits into their model, or a similar model early on like MSFT. Certainly Schmidt does or should. Brin/Page are just more against herd mentalities and equate splits with the Bubble years, no doubt in my mind.

If they don't want to split it, that is fine too, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least when recalling their CC from a couple quarters ago.
