you already gave up a lot to get soc sec retirement benefits..? i think it was a bad investment.

Maybe one day the politicos and the media will be honest about the budget....And tell those who don't really know, that there is very little to cut without dipping into the Government salaries and retirements, and the entitlements.... Unfortunately, the politicos in particular will always try to get vote mileage by saying they will "cut expenses" and "cut fat"...and without being specific about exactly what and how much they are really talking about. People who are not smart enough, or who haven't had any history or civics, won't know that. Hummmmmm, another education issue. You're right....big government is here and probably will stay, until we are like Sweden or France, etc....things will collapse under the weight of the tax burden for those who still pay most of the freight.
