I thought that decision sucked just as much as you probably did. But I don't know the law and didn't read the decision.

However, I seriously doubt that any consideration of "compassion" entered into the deliberations on that case. One would presume they have their own views of the law and take steps to base their decisions on existing law. Otherwise they wouldn't be where they are. Was there a dissent in that case?
