See......that happens.

Let me tell you a story about my Dad. He was in Okinawa when my brother and I came into the world. He was serving as a 1st mate on a ship as a Merchant Marine. (This was after the war.......I'm not that old ;)

From the time I was born till the day my Dad died he either owned or was captain of a boat or ship. He was extremely adept at navigation and fully understood how to use a sextant. His greatest love on earth was to be at sea looking forward to what lay over the horizon. He went through tens of boats, commercial fishing, freight hauling between Seattle and Alaska and occasionally taking a year off to sail to exotic ports. After making and losing a fortune, he decided it was time to finally become a legitimate Captain. He started school when he was 62 and finished at 65 with an Unlimited Captains License. He had always wanted to do this, and now he'd made his dream come true.

Unfortunately because of the hard life he chose to lead he developed colon cancer and died at the age of 67. It took 9 months and he suffered greatly, but he'd realized his dream and I take great solace in that reality.
