For example, die German stocks outperform the S&P by a wide margin: finance.yahoo.com mostly since Sept 2004. But it could be that with the dollar stabilising, the money comes back to the U.S. and in stocks. Money seeks a home and it is definitely not bonds. View it as a good sign that scandals a la refco did not rock the markets, not even in the financial sector.

On another note, I see that Google is not a nasdaq 100 index constituent. Any google run today can only show second order effects in the index.
