Exactly as much gasoline is made as is sold. Okay, there's a little bit of spillage, but there's not a litre made that isn't sold, and nobody goes without.

There is also some demand for ethanol and once again, magically, the demand for ethanol precisely matches the supply.

It seems to be like those weird accounting balance sheets where assets are always magically equal to liabilities.
