ElM, good quality food can be mass-produced. There is a lack of will. It's cheaper to produce fresh high quality food than cold-storage junk. There is no giant coolstore needed if food is handled correctly. It's only the dopey government controls which cause the butter mountains of barely edible product. The size of people is not just due to nutrition, though I'll grant that's no doubt part of it. Big blokes, as you say, did well in big wars, which have gone on forever. Women have done sexual selection forever too. They say they like tall, dark, handsome, intelligent and kind. Which is not an exhaustive list. Some also specify financial standards. And other things. If women want tall, they'll get tall. If they want intelligent, that's what they'll choose. Just as everyone is above average in driving skills [as determined by their own opinion] people have standards which tend to exceed themselves, so they would rather not marry than get the bottom of the barrel.
