As you may know, I used to follow DPII pretty closely in the Trickle Portfolio thread. Now I just wait for the price to recover for some reason and so I can sell, without paying it any attention.

I'm disappointed in the slow development of the uARCS system. It's probably dead now, as I think other screening technologies may have caught up to it. It seemed as though it could be pretty cheap, though. Anyhow, I was looking for it to be on the market a year or two ago. I can't remember what DPII paid Abbott for this.

The nanokan seemed pretty cool, too. I saw one at the Lab Automation in Palm Springs a few years ago. Like Argonaut's automated chemistry products, this seemed like a marketable technology, but never caught on.

There's still a bit of DPII in my Mom's portfolio. I don't have much hope for these guys now. Too much stuff never got developed or sold, so I am leery of management's execution in anything but contract chemistry. Next time they get a good burst of business in that area, causing the stock to get over $4 -- if ever -- I'm getting out.

Good Luck to both of us!

Cheers, Tuck
