Read an interesting article about "conservatism". Look up a guy named Peter Viereck. He is essentially the first "modern" conservative.

I have never seen a description of libertarianism where an overlap between it and liberalism are discussed. That make sense to me. I do endorse some of the tenets of libertarianism, but like with most -isms they take it too far. For an example, Tim Fowler calls himself a Libertarian but there is very little of his philosophy I can endorse.

I have found that the closest -ism in terms of my beliefs is liberalism but even then, it and I diverge on a several issues.
