So her sources wound up playing her,

It's similar to the way they fed those phony documents to Dan Rather. They make the stuff seem just like what you were expecting to find.

"True. It seems to be a combination of Miller being cut a lot of slack because she had access and good sources, and Miller being sucked into orbit around her sources. So her sources wound up playing her, and Miller and the NYT didn't realize it. And being idealogues instead of pragmatics, her sources over-reached."

I don't think it was so "lucky". Miller first ingratiated herself to the neocons during Iran-Contra. Since several of the Iran-Contra boys are now in the chimpistration, it's a natural she became their mouthpiece at the Times. Don't forget that Bush Sr. pardoned the whole Iran-Contra indicted crew. The fact that both she and her husband are good friends with Sulzberger the publisher sheilded her from the editors, a fact they dare not mention.

It's really yet to be determined if Miller was a dupe or a willing participant in the Neocon disinformation campaign.

"Its like all the stars aligned all at one time."

True. It seems to be a combination of Miller being cut a lot of slack because she had access and good sources, and Miller being sucked into orbit around her sources. I am not sure Miller was that innocent. I have to believe she held many of the same beliefs as her sources.

And when I say all the stars seem to align, I don't just mean those in the Miller constellation but across the board.....group after group managed to fall in line so that Bush and his cronies could do as they pleased. Granted some of it was fear on the part of these groups who were afraid to object to a popular president but even most events like toppling Saddam in the first three days of the war seem to go Bush's way.

But the most amazing thing was how mute the American public was........so docile......they made Bambi look like the most feared killer of the forest. I will never forget it no matter what happens.
