<How do YOU know what Jesus believed?? On what basis do you toss out or fold in stories from the past??>

LOL... on the same basis that you fold in or toss them out!!? All this {as I've stated} is JMO based on my point of view.

I think what you need to do is simply get a comparative religion book by someone decent, and note who all the great religions have some very similar main points and teachings.

<SORRY! You will have to show why YOU are keeping ANY of it!! >

Not any more than you have to show me why you throw it all out!? No? I mean what's your point, really??? We simply disagree. Nothing is 'provable' here, although I must say there are a few of Jesus core teachings 'love, compassion, forgiveness' that are pretty hard to argue with. But again, even THAT is JMO. That said, we could start there... do you agree that love, forgiveness, compassion are beneficial to human life? If so, are you saying you can't find that in Jesus teachings... or even the Catholic Church's {ughhh} teachings?? I mean we may as well get to basics.

<When you run into contradictions you need to either reconcile them (as fundamentalists attempt unsuccessfully to do to show that the bible is inerrant and infallible), or you can simply cherry pick the things that appear Divinely inspired to you and toss out the rest.">

Or anything in between as well as differing translations.
