You are certainly correct on that. I used to spend more on groceries and it cost us more to eat in and then the leftovers usually got thrown out.

When my MIL was still alive and was a widow, I used to make up TV trays for her with our leftovers and freeze them and always cooked some extra so I would have more and then she did not have to cook. She always thanked me as she didn't like to cook for just herself.

Yes, we have more than one favorite restaurant and usually go to them every week. We have so many nice places here to eat and when we find one that is not so loud so we can hear ourselves talk, that serves a good quality of food then we visit them often. We have some dear friends that are like family to us and also eat out in the evening and we eat with them several times a week and stay after dinner just visiting. Our families are quite similar and we always find so much to discuss. Our values are the same also. So many people, after their children leave home, have begun to eat their evening meals out, so we have met a lot of people in our restaurant travels.
