" I hear nothing from you re. that except to complain the poor get welfare"

I don't get this resentment towards the poor.

I don't mind that some get welfare - it isn't some sort of lavish lifestyle for nothing. Lots of people have lots of reasons they can't earn their own living. Sick, mental illnesses, incapability - no economic opportunity.

Most republican types take more than their fair share out of society - why do they resent those who have so little?

" I hear nothing from you re. that except to complain the poor get welfare."

Are you saying that you believe it is my responsibility to make you read all of my posts.

"That's because instead of getting competitive bids or buying directly from manufacturers like it used to, the Pentagon is using middlemen who set their own prices. It's the equivalent of shopping for weekly groceries at a convenience store."

Actually it is because purchasing authorities often ask current suppliers to provide products and services they are not efficient at delivering. Remember that it is not easy to become a military supplier. Should all purchasing be done more efficiently? Yes!

Next ask yourself if your school district could be more efficient. Do you see some instructors just going through the motions that are paid more than energetic younger lower paid teachers? I see it in my school district. Ask yourself if being paid more for more credit hours of college is an efficient way of rewarding teacher performance. It is not! It would be more honest to pay based on the results of their students on measurable scales: socialization, standardized test results; etc.

I do not believe that is the best system either, but paying for educational inputs instead of educational outputs rewards those who take classes, not those who put their soles into their classes.

The military and government as a whole can be more efficient. The smaller it is, the more efficient it is likely to be. If you don't like waste, lets start trimming programs that are not enumerated.
