Remember, there are now two kinds of conservatives. "Principled conservatives" oppose Miers, might think about a little spending discipline. Regular conservatives are Bush-types. They appear in cronyism, like Miers and Ron (hold my calls from New Orleans while I eat, Mary) Brown. The principled conservatives are trying to keep the family together while still evicting all the members who are not "right thinking" conservatives.

Amazingly, the principlied conservatives had no problem with GWB's policies a few months ago. Even though he was still spending federal money madly. Many of them are in congress and didn'b apparently become principled until the Miers nomination. On the other hand, the pundits claim to always have been principled since pundits never have to vote on anything, it is easy for them. Ask Ann Coulter (who is also being ripped up by some religious conservatives over her statements and lifestyle).

You need a scorecard.

Remember conservatives. When Bill Clinton lied under oath, it was a big deal. The rule of law, etc. If any indictments come out this week on that basis, I am sure there will be no hypocrisy shown by the principled conservatives.

Perhaps it was Mr. Rove that suggested that Miers be selected as the Supreme Court Nominee? What better way to distract America from the upcoming indictments?
