Frank, You are absolutely right, Buffett is not altruistic, but a selfish twit, because he does not give all right now; Gates is a scoundrel, because he keeps some for self, so that he can not cease to keep thousands of employees in gravy; and Turner, the worst of the lot, he only listened to his gracious wife, and would have done naught had he been left on own. All terrible people, starting from a particular premise.

As to Soros, a dangerous man, surely, giving 10 big ones to save the world from Mr Mission Accomplished Not. Must be investigated, and better still, hounded into oblivion.

So, in any case, proportionally speaking, I guess I gave more, but since not all, then not altruistic, a scoundrel, and even worse than the worst of the lot, given that I gave less.

I guess I must be misunderstanding you, or do you actually really mean that the gents you mentioned are not altruistic.

Chugs, J

Hello Frank,
Tobago Jack responded infinitely more entertainingly than I know how to do. I just want to add something about Buffett. Most of his world's most enormous fortune is to be given to his charitable foundation. One of this foundation's high lights is the research for ever cheaper and ever more effective contraceptives. That appeals to me. Hunger every day is so terrible!

P.S. "What makes you believe Jack will be counted etc."
A. He will surely become a tycoon. For example during the tech craze he patiently explained that the very pace of invention tends to undo anybody's monopoly, hence it's an area to stay away from mostly. There was one exception which he and I happened to share views about. It sextupled or octupled, I don't remember which, all in a year or so and we got out, not at the top but near it. Unlike him I had faith in other tech stocks, thus more than cancelling out the spectacular advance in that one stock. Nobody is to be followed like a guru. There is no god. But Tobago Jack has tremendous skills.
As for giving much of it away, he was raised by two altruists and is a thoroughly decent person. Don't worry about that point. He is in the amassing stage now.
