They seem to keep coming over here to wage Jihad.. And we keep killing them (or they kill themselves, along with innocent Iraqis).I do believe a very big chunk of all major wars and crimes against humanity has its roots in British colonial action...But what is your point? The Brits did wrong and so shall we?! The wrongs have continue over the decades.. by our enabling corrupt and non-democratic governments in the region (and by "our", I mean Europe, as well as the US. And we didn't much care because "hey.. so long as the US isn't physically threatened, there's no reason to get upset".. But the stakes have changed now.. 9/11 was their calling card.. And it was a plane that was originally thought of in the early '90s (Ramzi Yusif's originally planned the concept of hijacking airliners as flying bombs).. Yeah.. they existed previously.. and we didn't much worry about them because they primarily killed each other (or better yet, were killing Soviets)..Do you do use the same logic when you get into a fight with your wife or teenage kid? If not, why? If my wife was a phychopathic killer, who felt justified in murdering anyone who religiously disagreed with them?? Well, yes I would... In fact, I was once married to a Christian fanatic who was not to far removed from being a militant.. At least she believed that she was justified in praying that her husband should die so that she could re-marry someone more "attuned" to her spiritual expectations. (that's the no-sh*t truth.. she even connived me into letting her have a $300K life insurance policy on me in exchange for an uncontested divorce because she thought God was going to "take me away") So yeah.. I have a bit of experience with Religious Fanatics.. And I've seen enough of the hateful language and actions by the Zarqawi followers here in Iraq to convince me that the only thing that will stop them from fighting is by taking out the infrastructure that recruits and brainwashes them.. The power elite of Islamic Militancy are the militant Imams who abuse their positions of religious authority to use terror to increase their power. And we have yet to properly deal with them... I am just saying how US has behaved and is behaving now is wrong. I guess I don't know how we're supposed to behave in the face of 9/11. I guess we should just "turn the other cheek" when a bunch of religious thugs declare war upon our country and then proceed to attack it. And we should just turn that cheek again when the same people that brought us 9/11 decide to perpetrate the same thing in Iraq.. Don't you think that seeing these Islamic Militants target innocent Iraqi MUSLIMS, both Shia and Sunni, might just diminish the allure of waging Jihad on a global scale?? I'm betting that it will... Certainly far more than permitting the US to be a global "bulls-eye" for their cause.. I don't really see us having any other choice.. We're going to be blamed for whatever transpires in the Middle East eventually.. It make sense that if we're going to take the blame anyway, we might as well have a major say in influencing the outcome. Hawk
