Come on, Bill...Perjury is always serious. The impact on anyone who commits it is should be serious, be it the aide to the President or that fellow down at the quickemart. IN fact, that fellow down at the mart is in trouble if he does so, as under our system the laws are enforced equally regardless of status....the penalties are the same.

If Libby or Rove are indicted (no sure thing) I hope we don't hear principled conservatives say that it is not as important, because they are not elected officials, or some such. The power these individuals wield is as great or greater than that of most elected officials. And isn't all of this whole business about abuse of power, or covering up? Joe down at the quik-e-mart doesn't have a lot of power but he is still subject to the law...and it is important that he is.
