I haven't read the Assassin's Gate, and will at least take a look at it, but I have a pretty good idea why Cheney and Rumsfeld were running things, and that's because they're competent men who have a vision and the ability to get things done. Which you can't say for the rest of the administration. Now, one thing that happens when I say things like this is that we get off on a sideshow which eventually boils down to "but I don't like what they did." I don't expect you to like what they did. But that's a side issue that I don't really care to go over once again. And their reasons are in black and white in places like the PNAC website and AEI website and the White House website -- if you want to know why, go there. Dr. Rice put all her thinking on her website when she was National Security Advisor. There is a vision, whether you agree with it or not. Doug Feith I know nothing about.
