It has been claimed that pot helps people nauseated by their cancer treatments.

Peter, that is entirely true, I've used it myself to treat nausea and it works well.

I do have an opinion on the effects it has on young people. It is very deleterious to them, their social interactions, and socialization skills. There are physical as well as physiological effects that are better avoided.

Peter, the same might be said of the video game craze.
By young people, I'm going to assume that you're talking about persons under the age of 21, if that's the case, I don't disagree with you. The same could be said for drugs of any kind, including alcohol. I should point out that the war on drugs isn't keeping drugs away from our teenagers, what it is doing is making our schools a lucrative target for pushers. A poll was taken of high schoolers that asked which is harder for them to attain drugs or alcohol, 85% said drugs! Why? Because they're right there in school! Have you ever hear of organized crime rings targeting the same group with alcohol? No. Why? Because it's regulated.

BTW, I'd put it to you that the doctors that you're getting input from might have a slanted point of view. I'd like to hear from one that had a patient where marijuana abuse was the only problem that their patient had. I believe that marijuana abuse would merely be a symptom of a greater underlying problem, again, the same could be said about alcohol abuse.

Peter, I really appreciate your questions and arguments on this issue. I'm really surprised that more people haven't jumped into our discussion. There's too many people out there only too happy to suck up all the propaganda our gov't is putting out on this issue.
