So they don't hate freedom. They're just ignorant? Hey perhaps you should email the President and have him change his "sound bite". Clearly the Arab people are fiercely independent. They know more about freedom and having to fight for it than you can comprehend. They do not hate freedom, but they would like the US to butt out of the middle east. I can say with all certainty, that the Arabs are fighting for their freedom right now, in their homeland. They're doing the same thing that you and I would be doing if an army of Arabs tried to occupy our homeland. We'd be trying to kill the bastards anyway we could. And when the bastards have been at it in your homeland for the past century, then it's time to export the destruction if you can. Walk a mile in the Arab sandals. Then you might begin to see what is taking place. We'd be doing much much more for the world and the middle east by focusing on supplying our own energy needs, than trying to take control of their supply. They want to sell us oil. Only when we stop buying it will we get their attention. Problem is, we have been buying it from dictators and kings which we largely created. This is exactly the kind of foreign policy that negates democracy. That's what we have been doing for the past 100 years. Now we flip it and try to force democracy on them at the point of a gun. Hah...won't work! The best way to make democracy happen is to never trade or deal with countries that do not uphold democratic principles. That do not have fair and free elections. That to not respect human rights. You'd be surprised how quickly democracy will take root. Look at Eastern Europe for example. There's still time to take the moral high ground. Unfortunately it's going to take the impeachment/indictment of the neocons running the current horror show. Orca
