Saddam needed to be taken care of, but not in any big rush, and not unilaterally, and not based on a pack of lies. Saddam was a potential threat. Somewhere in the 5-10 top threats facing us. But not in the top 3-4. And not directly related to the War On Terror. The big lie of the Bushies was to try to morph 9-11 and Osama into Saddam. Trying to pretend Saddam was a imminent threat to us. All a big lie. That and the utter lack of real prep and planning. Combine those and going to war was impeachable.
