Cheney is at the heart of the Iraq War scams.
Kerry and centrist democrats were not appeasers, Kerry himself is the opposite of Cheney, though just as tough in his own way.

Kerry was stuck between a rock and a hard place. The correct vote on war powers was "only if you follow these rules and don't rush in, just be methodical and well-prepared". A conditional yes in other words, otherwise no.

Though we suspected Bushies couldn't be trusted we did not then know for sure. Those opposing the war were the types who oppose all wars. Many of them opposed the Afghanistan invasion. We cannot be a nation which opposes all war. Some wars are justified. Afghanistan was. Iraq was not. But if Saddam had been developing nukes and planning to use them, it would have been. Therein lies the heart of the case against the WH now. And remember, Bush-Cheney were controlling the intel. Which is what pissed the CIA off enough to demand a prosecutor.
