8:01PM Maverick Tube earnings fall nearly 43%; revenue rises (MVK) by Katherine Hunt
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Maverick Tube Corp. (MVK) late Monday reported its third-quarter net earnings dropped 42.9% to $39.2 million, or 90 cents a share, from $68.5 million, or $1.60 a share, during the same period a year ago. The St. Louis-based manufacturer of tubular products for the energy industry posted revenue of $489.1 million vs. $353.7 million. Analysts surveyed by Thomson First Call had forecast earnings of 87 cents in the third quarter.

[Harry: If the trend goes beyond this quarter, then oil prices and production/demand will probably have peaked, as most of this drop should be due to Hurricanes preventing construction.
Renewed strength due to repair to infrastructure should appear next Q.]

I have the daily raw data in Excel from various official sources. I view the 10 and 21 days averages of this data. Over time, the correlation between a 1+ 10 days MA to a market bottom has been uncanny.

Send you email to me and I will forward you the raw data so you may chart yourself...
