No, not double-brick, which is the way that brick buildings are constructed in the US, too, at least the good ones. In a double-brick wall, the space between is no bigger than about half a brick, since they turn bricks sideways to link the two walls.

In an envelope house, the space is typically large enough to use as a walkway or an atrium.
